He does have a code of honour. The entire play is driven by his quest to avenge his father's death. He communes with the dead, risks his soul, and willingly lets the castle believe him mad. These are all sacrifices he makes to help his departed father find justice, which is all very honourable. Alas, he also sacrifices this very honour for the purpose of justice.

In the end, he lies, he mocks, he schemes, he kills some people and sends others to their deaths. He understands how dishonourable these actions are, and there's a certain honour in that, but it's not enough.
